With gyms being closed since March due to COVID-19 we decided to order a Peloton Bike. This is our first exercise equipment for home and so far have liked having it for the convenience. My husband and I have never tried a spinning class prior to the Peloton, but I was all on board since it is a low impact workout.
Delivery
We ordered the bike in April and it took seven weeks for it’s delivery, it is definitely a popular item these days. I read prior to COVID the bike would take about two weeks for delivery.
Due to the pandemic the delivery was contactless, they assembled it outside and left it in our entryway. Since we were taking the bike upstairs they didn’t attach the screen, we did that once we brought the bike upstairs. This was because the screen makes the bike much heavier.
Cost

I do recommend purchasing the heart rate monitor so you get an accurate reading of your workout.

I purchased the mat to place under the bike from amazon, here is the link: https://amzn.to/2Piv91J
Peloton Membership
The Peloton is an investment not only do you pay for the bike and accessories, there is a $39/month membership fee.
In addition to the cycling classes the membership also includes other types of classes such as strength, yoga, cardio, meditation, running, outdoor, stretching, bootcamp and walking.
Results
In the 30 days I noticed a difference in my body and also on the scale, I lost 5 lbs, however I am in the second month of Peloton and the weight loss has slowed. I might need to start doing longer than 30 minute classes. So far I have been sticking to the 20-30 minute classes.
Other Options
I know the Peloton can be a little pricey but you do not have to buy the Peloton to join their membership. Another option is to buy a different brand spinning bike and use the Peloton app which would be $12.99/month. The bikes I found that were popular were the Bowflex C6 Bike and Sunny Indoor Bike.
